Governed
Giving a data function a structure that scales
Operating model
A diagnostic and a one-to-two-year roadmap, right-sized to the organisation: lean for small firms, layered for large ones.
The engagement: existing, as built, in production
Existing
The challenge
Organisations in the middle of a major data transformation, or standing up a chief data office, often lack a structured path forward. Without clear governance, an operating model and a defined role for a platform such as Palantir, the investment stalls: the tools are in place, but the accountability, processes and team structures are not, and adoption fails.
As built
What we built
- A 90-day diagnostic: maturity assessment, ownership mapping and target operating model design
- A one-to-two-year roadmap covering governance frameworks, the data office’s structure, the platform architecture and a centre of excellence
- Right-sized governance: lean, fast-moving structures for smaller firms; layered ownership with formal decision rights and data councils for large enterprises
In production
The impact
- An actionable roadmap from the current state to the target operating model, with leadership aligned behind it
- The platform becomes an embedded, governed part of the organisation, with defined ownership, workflows and accountability
- Right-sized from day one: neither over-engineered for a small firm nor under-structured for a large one
One roadmap
from the current state to the target model

The same problem elsewhere
The same diagnostic applies to any organisation whose data platform arrived before the ownership, processes and roles that make it stick.
- Manufacturing & engineering
- A plant-level data programme that needs group governance before it can scale across sites.
- Energy & utilities
- A data office set up for regulation and asset management that needs decision rights and owners.
- Public sector
- A new data function with a mandate but no operating model for the departments it serves.
- Healthcare & life sciences
- Data ownership across clinical, operational and finance teams that nobody has yet written down.
